Often, the idea of switching to a sustainable lifestyle can seem overwhelming, intimidating, or expensive. The purpose of this blog is to showcase simple lifestyle changes to inspire small changes. Over time, small changes work together to create a lasting impact.
A sustainable lifestyle can look different for everyone, and steps can include limiting trash, increasing recycling, purchasing clothing from a thrift store or consignment shop, purchasing a hybrid or electric vehicle, supporting businesses that use compostable packaging, and a myriad of other ideas.
This blog also highlights products and companies that are also committed to a more environmentally conscious future.
By no means are these suggestions an encouragement to throw out everything you own and purchase new products. Rather, these are ideas to slowly replace items you have as you have need for them, with the goal of adopting a more sustainable, earth-friendly lifestyle one step at a time. There is no such thing as perfection and the greatest impact will be had when more people do things imperfectly, rather than only a few striving for perfection.

I am the stereotypical Enneagram 3, and an eldest daughter on top of that. I am high energy, a high achiever, and I positively thrive on setting and achieving my goals. But I wasn’t always that way. Growing up, I used to spend New Year’s Eve setting a ridiculous amount of goals (at least twenty)…

It is October 25, 2025 at the time of this writing, and the government is shut down. My governor, Mike Kehoe, has announced that Missouri does not have any funds available to cover the cost of November’s SNAP budget, which will leave many Missourians without grocery money in just a few days. What is SNAP?…
