Why Sustainability
We are in the middle of a devastating climate crisis. While the majority of the responsibility is held by top polluting corporations, we each have a responsibility to do our part to limit our carbon footprints and reduce our environmental impact on the earth.

Often, the idea of switching to a sustainable lifestyle can seem overwhelming, intimidating, or expensive. The purpose of this blog is to showcase simple lifestyle changes to inspire small changes. Over time, small changes work together to create a lasting impact.
A sustainable lifestyle can look different for everyone, and steps can include limiting trash, increasing recycling, purchasing clothing from a thrift store or consignment shop, purchasing a hybrid or electric vehicle, supporting businesses that use compostable packaging, and a myriad of other ideas.
This blog also highlights products and companies that are also committed to a more environmentally conscious future.
By no means are these suggestions an encouragement to throw out everything you own and purchase new products. Rather, these are ideas to slowly replace items you have as you have need for them, with the goal of adopting a more sustainable, earth-friendly lifestyle one step at a time. There is no such thing as perfection and the greatest impact will be had when more people do things imperfectly, rather than only a few striving for perfection.

How To Garden in an Apartment for Fresh Produce Anywhere
Some of my earliest memories are set in a garden. I remember riding in the wheelbarrow out to my grandpa’s garden and eating tomatoes fresh-off-the-vine like apples, and stuffing my little 5T overalls full of dirt-caked sweet potatoes. How to Observe Dry January
I’ve been alcohol-free since October 2023. I decided to become sober because I realized that every time I drank alcohol – even just one glass of wine – I would be awake half the night and feel so cranky the next morning. As a single mom with a chronic illness, a full time employee, and…

Eggs Are For Baby Chicks! My Favorite Vegan Egg Replacements
When I decided to transition from dairy-free vegetarian to fully vegan in 2019, the only thing I needed to give up was eggs. After two weeks of an egg-free diet, the debilitating eczema on my legs that had plagued me for literal decades was completely gone, without so much as a hint of a scar….

The Books I Loved in 2025
I’ve been an avid reader since I was around eight years old. I distinctly remember my mom handing me a thick paperback copy of Little Women she had picked up at a book sale and told me “this should keep you busy for a week or so.” It took me three days. My reading hobby…
